Closing in 3 hrs / Earthquake/ Hurricane

Its finally time!

Earthquake & hurricane damage: Our carpet got soaked in an area of our current home in the basement during the hurricane, because apparently during the earthquake we got two foundation cracks. SMH...we have lived there 4 years without ever getting water damage in the basement. With boxes and crap all around we had to pull up the carpet and have someone come out so that we could get new carpet installed for our renter by next week. All I was thinking is that it could have been worse and I am happy it happened, before the renter moved in.

The new house had no visible damage from the earthquake or hurricane other than the yard sunk in in some areas and Ryan plans to fix it this week.

Also I have been meaning to post but things have been so hectic I cannot even begin to explain, we have had to do soooooo many things that I feel like my brain is spinning. I can barely keep up with the emails and the to do list is never ending! Like Ravenna Rant & HW both said, the inbox is cluttered, house is in shambles (but packed), and as soon as I scratch and item off my list, two more pop up. lol...I feel like a nut and not to mention I packed our iron so this week I have been semi wrinkled at work lol and smh!

Here are a few things we have purchased:

LG steam washer & dryer
Samsung 59 inch slim 3D smart plasma TV
King Sleigh bed from Haverty's
Sealy king size plush pillow top mattress (not shown)
Curtain Rods (not shown)

Make sure you have the stores to price match because we saved a ton of money doing that for our electronics! I have a loooong laundry list of things I still need to purchase, but I am going to take it one day at a time and just get the essentials. I am a nut so you will have pictures with in the next few days because I cannot rest until my house is in order! lol...It will be old things in the new place, but I will show you what we have....anywho happy building and WE ARE GOING TO GET OUR KEYS TODAY!!!!! Yaaaaay! lol

We had our pre-settlement walkthrough

Yesterday starting at 10am and ending at 4:45pm, we completed our walk through. The house looked great even though by the end of the day we had a gazillion touch up spots for paint. We only found a few Minor things, like a missing vent cover outside, fireplace was crooked (not the mantle), and one or two other things I can't even remember.

I feel like I learned so much about how to take care of my home. We learned about sump pumps, water heaters, air condition maintenance, you name it, we went over it. We even went over getting our house tested for radon (buying a kit, just to be sure, because Ryan doesn't test for it). Lol, I even learned that we will be living in a area that uses well water. LOL, I had no clue...such a city girl...

Everything looked beautiful and the walk through just made me realize how well built my home is. I am very happy with my Ryan Home thus far! :) Now only 6 days left until we get those KEYS!!!!!!

Happy building folks!

I cannot believe that we are only 9 days until closing? We have a renter, we have started packing (mostly DH), and now it's almost time to go! We have our walk through on Wednesday and then this weekend to finish packing!

We went past the house and not too much had changed, except we had GRASS!!!! ;) it looked pretty good and only a few brown spots. Shrubs are not my favorite but will do for now.

We also found out what that white box in the basement was. It is to access the lines for the sewer and water. If we want to add a bar we can access the water line there. They finished painting the box as well.

That's it for now! Until Wednesday happy building!

Renters!

I have great news! We found a renter! I am so excited...now we can pack the house up.

We have been on call for almost a month now. We would get a call from our realtor and sometimes have only 10-15 minutes noticed that we needed to leave the house so that they could show the property! Smh, but it was all worth it! ;)

Also we went to the house on Friday and guess what? The installed my glass cabinet doors above my range! Yaaaaay! :)

I have a new app on my phone that let's you create a panoramic picture. Here is our family room, morning room and kitchen pic. It's a little off, but I think it really helps to create the "big picture"!

Here is the front with all of the shutters and door painted black.

Also the hardwood in the morning room looks so nice...;)
