Our friends and family have visited and they love our house. I love it even more. Our neighborhood is so great! Today while I was making dinner, all of the neighbors who own houses in our little block came and welcomed us with a gift basket filled with all types of goodies to include a plant, white board, gift card, electronic soap dispenser, paint kit, a few other items...they also gave us a little form for our email...and they send info to everyone on the block...so nice to meet everyone after a long day! Hubby and I felt sooo special! ;)

Anywho during all of this bad weather our driveway sunk in so we had to park on the street but as soon as the rain stopped they patched it up. The rain has delayed progress on a lot of homes here.

Our old house has had so Many issues. The basement flooded again and we found out we had a 4 foot crack in the foundation, the tenant moved in And moved right back out, because she thought we had water issues :(. So now the property management folks are getting estimates to fix the problems and have to realist and we now have to pay two mortgages and I had to cut the utilities back on today.
It's okay I know this is just a rest and I plan to just keep smiling and enjoying my new home.
I will post pics soon, I promise! I need to reAd everyone's posts I'm so far behind!
HW and Ranter do you love your homes? BD are you ready to close?
Talk to y'all later I'm pooped!

Chelly! I am with you girl. I'm too exhausted to write a whole blog post, but not too exhausted to congratulate YOU for being able to do it!! We are still looking for a renter and cleaning out the townhouse, and trying to organize our new life, all the while I just want to LAY DOWN AND SLEEP!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad you are happy in your new home and new neighborhood. All the other stuff will work itself out - it always does. Congrats!!!
Sorry to hear about your basement. YIKES! Hopefully it can be resolved quickly and cheaply!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're doing well! Nice basket!
Gosh what a tough break, but I am glad you can smile through all circumstance. Can't wait for the pictures and lots of luck in finding a tenant.
ReplyDeleteHello Chelly - we finally are back on-line, so life is good. We are all moved in with plenty of boxes to unpack. Our daughter's bedroom and playroom are complete...now we can work on the rest of the house. We still need to go back to our old house to clean and decide if we want to drop the price again or drop our Realtor. We have even kicked around the idea of possibly renting it out until the ecomony gets a little better.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, our house is AWESOME!!! There is so much space and we love our neighborhood. The gift basket is a great idea...I was just going to make some banana bread and wrap it in fancy plastic wrap.
We are glad to hear that you are all settled in and we can't wait to see some pictures. It will be awhile before we get some pictures posted.
@Chelly and HW - you guys won the race, but not by too much...so glad to hear you all are getting settled in...we are starting to accumulate boxes all over the place in prep for our move...8 more days...EEEEEEEEKKKKK!!!! So excited....you two need to post some pics....I need my fix
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new home. My hubby and I are also building in Brentwood. Unfortunately for me, I'll miss out on the excitement and experience as I currently live in Hawaii (military). But I have enjoyed reading your blog and learning from it. I'll make sure to pass on a bunch of info to my hubby...poor guy!!! Once again congrats and thanks for blogging!
ReplyDeleteThanks BD & HW, I promise to post soon. I was having some issues with blogger.
ReplyDeleteThanks JW! Nice to meet a new neighbor on here. :) Sorry your missing the construction process however, the light at the end of the tunnel is that you will get to come home to a beautiful home that is built very well.
I'm glad I could help. These blogs helped me though the process tremendously since this is my first time building. :)
